Historians locate King Arthurs Round Table – Telegraph

Researchers exploring the legend of Britain’s most famous Knight believe his stronghold of Camelot was built on the site of a recently discovered Roman amphitheatre in Chester.Legend has it that his Knights would gather before battle at a round table where they would receive instructions from their King.

Russia may send spacecraft to asteroid – What!

MOSCOW – Russias space chief said Wednesday his agency will consider sending a spacecraft to a large asteroid to knock it off its path and prevent a possible collision with Earth.Anatoly Perminov said the space agency will hold a meeting soon to assess a mission to Apophis, telling Golos Rossii radio that it would invite NASA, the European Space Agency, the Chinese space agency and others to join the project once it is finalized.

Live-Blogging Ashura Protests in Iran – The Daily NiteOwl

00477-09 In the closing hours of the day, the number of dead in Tehran rose from four to around 8-10. Full confirmation is not at hand, but given the reports of security forces firing on protesters, it does not seem surprising for the number to higher. The number of people arrested so far in Tehran and around Iran is probably over 300 people. Full confirmation will probably come later.

Report: Dobbs to Resign from CNN; Last Show Tonight | NewsBusters.org

"Lou Dobbs, the longtime CNN anchor whose anti-immigration views made him a TV lightning rod, plans to announce Wednesday that he is leaving the network, two network employees said," Stelter and Carter wrote. "A CNN executive confirmed that Mr. Dobbs will announce his resignation plans on his 7 p.m. program. His resignation is effective immediately; tonight's program will be his last on CNN. His contract was not set to expire until the end of 2011."

Found: first ‘skylight’ on the moon – space – 22 October 2009 – New Scientist

A deep hole on the moon that could open into a vast underground tunnel has been found for the first time. The discovery strengthens evidence for subsurface, lava-carved channels that could shield future human colonists from space radiation and other hazards.

The moon seems to possess long, winding tunnels called lava tubes that are similar to structures seen on Earth. They are created when the top of a stream of molten rock solidifies and the lava inside drains away, leaving a hollow tube of rock.

What is the deal with all this talk about settling the moon and mars. Is something big about to happen were we will need to do this? Besides that how likely is this? We have in no way the capabilities of doing this. We cant even balance the budget.
